Porjus is a village in Swedish Lapland, the northern part of Sweden. This is the place where Northern Lights are most frequently seen and are at their best. With just a little more than 400 inhabitants, Porjus is a small village. Being small like that, there is little artificial light. So it gets dark, very dark. The ideal place for experiencing one of the most impressive, natural light spectacles on earth:to see the Northern Lights! No expensive tours needed, it's just outside your apartment door! Porjus.eu is run by Yann Hollander and the apartments are run by Patricia Cowern. We are Northern Lights enthousiasts, researchers and photographers. We are working together to share this wonderful phenomenon to everyone who wants to see the northern lights for themselves and make your experience one of the most remembering ever. No heaps of tourists here, just you and the nature around you.
Porjus is easy to reach and has unspoiled nature. You can fill your daytime on the ski-slope, go cross-country skiing or dog sledding. You can even take a helicopter or snow scooter trip. It is a pure and out-of-the-way winter destination. And don't worry about having no snow, we are having the stuff for 6 months.
